Garré Tidey
Garré came to HHMI with a background in medical and scientific visualization. They support the BioInteractive team by creating original illustrations, animations, graphic designs, and interactive media that are used in a wide variety of science education resources as well as the BioInteractive website.
Garré earned their BFA in both Studio Art and Biochemistry from the College of William & Mary. Looking to hybridize their passions for science and art, they continued to earn an MFA in Medical Illustration and Animation from the Rochester Institute of Technology where they researched the human microbiome and barrier site microbiota interactions. They have since passed their Board Certification in Medical Illustration as issued by the Association of Medical Illustrators, officially becoming a CMI as of 2020.
