Description

This interactive module allows students to investigate their own ecological questions using data collected by trail cameras in Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique.

WildCam Lab is part of WildCam Gorongosa, an online citizen science platform for identifying animals in trail camera photos. Scientists in Gorongosa National Park are using these remote trail cameras to monitor and study animal populations in the park.

By using the interactive map and other tools in WildCam Lab, students can filter and download data to perform different analyses. Educators can set up private classrooms and invite students to join. Guided activities and supporting educational resources are available under the “Resources” tab inside the “Educator” section of WildCam Lab.

Estimated Time

One to several 50-minute class periods, depending on the investigation.
