Description

This tutorial explores how stem cells can be used to treat a wide range of diseases.

This Click & Learn begins with one common example of a stem-cell-based therapy: bone marrow transplantation. This therapy has helped many people with blood cancers, such as leukemia. The Click & Learn also discusses how stem cells can be used to promote healing and treat diseases. For example, therapies based on adult stem cells have undergone clinical trials for diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.
