DNA Replication (Schematic)
Description
This animation shows a schematic representation of the mechanism of DNA replication.
When scientists discovered the double-helical structure of DNA, they thought it suggested a mechanism for its replication. The double helix unwinds and each strand acts as a template for the construction of the new DNA molecule.
