Catherina Sammons

I teach biology, IB Biology, and chemistry at Tates Creek High School, an urban high school in Lexington, Kentucky. I am always excited to help my students find connections between course content and their lives in order to make sense of the world they experience. BioInteractive adds immense value to my teaching. It provides a rich source of activities based on observable and meaningful phenomena, allowing me to use my students’ curiosity to propel their learning. Subsequent reflection and discussions take my students on deep dives into the content as they assimilate concepts. When I’m not working with my students, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
