Brenda Royal

After 33 years teaching biology, I still love getting to share my passion for biology with new students. Having taught just about all the sciences, it's delightful to wind down my career teaching AP Biology, anatomy & physiology, and a course on emerging infectious diseases at Central Magnet School, a magnet high school in the same building where I attended 9th grade. I've enjoyed watching the evolution of HHMI materials from yearly VHS tapes of the Holiday Lectures to being the top pick of high school teachers in the nation. It is so much fun to find people who haven't discovered HHMI and see their eyes light up when I show them the myriad of curricular supports available online. When I'm not prepping for class, I'm herding my cats, Thelma and Louise, and playing with my grandchildren.
