I've taught a range of life and physical science classes in rural, suburban, and urban districts, including in Charlottesville, Virginia, where I currently teach environmental science and chemistry. I love using science to help students explore their own identities and unique skills. My goal is to help them to connect with the natural world and feel empowered to take positive action in their own communities. BioInteractive resources help me meet these goals by providing all students with authentic ways to engage with scientific practices and phenomena. I love thinking about how to adapt these high-quality resources to meet the needs of my individual students and local context. Outside the classroom, I can usually be found with a book in hand, if I'm not knitting, baking, or enjoying time in the great outdoors.
