I teach AP Environmental Science and chemistry at Marshfield High School in rural northern Wisconsin. I also coach Science Olympiad and have a protein-modeling research group. I love getting my students out in the field to collect authentic data and make sense of it. When we cannot be outside during the cold Wisconsin winters, we turn to the next best thing: HHMI BioInteractive. My students really connect with the variety of researchers and the stories they have to tell. The resources provide students with access to rigorous material that makes them think like scientists. When I’m not teaching, I like to cycle and spend time on the water. My daughters and I love to travel, and my students love it when I share these experiences to teach science concepts.
