I teach introduction to biology, environmental science, ecology, plant ecology, invertebrate zoology, and biostatistics at Mount St. Mary's University, a small liberal arts university in north-central Maryland. My favorite aspect of utilizing BioInteractive resources is that they provide all the information students need to get started as well as plenty of detail for me to be prepared to extend the exercise for more advanced classes. I also appreciate that new resources are added constantly. What I value about teaching science is the curiosity of the students and how many connections I can make with current events. When I’m not teaching, I like to read, walk, and watch baseball (both professional teams and my sons’ teams!).
